There’s something about fall in the Treasure Valley that we look forward to all year.

The mornings get a little cooler. The foothills trade their summer tones for shades of gold. Football is back, patios are still comfortable, and suddenly that first cup of coffee tastes even better outside.

It’s a short season around here—which might be exactly why we love it so much.

Get Outside While You Can

Fall is one of the best times to explore the Treasure Valley.

Take a drive through the foothills, spend an afternoon on the Greenbelt, visit a local pumpkin patch, or head downtown for dinner on the patio before cooler weather officially takes over.

And, of course, there’s nothing quite like a Saturday spent cheering on the Broncos with a sea of blue and orange around you.

The days may be getting shorter, but there's still plenty of Idaho sunshine left to enjoy.

Home Starts Feeling a Little Cozier

Fall also marks that perfect in-between season when life begins shifting back indoors.

Windows stay open to let in the crisp air. The fireplace gets its first use in months. Blankets make their way back onto the sofa, and the kitchen starts smelling a little more like soup, fresh bread, and everything pumpkin.

Even outdoor spaces get a second wind. A covered patio, outdoor fireplace, or fire pit can turn a cool evening into one of the best nights of the season.

Make the Most of It

Maybe that’s what makes fall here feel so special.

It’s a little bit summer and a little bit winter, with just enough time in between to slow down and enjoy both.
